Study Says Mindfulness Improves Standardized Test Scores - GRE's

(follow Ethan on Facebook or Twitter)Almost every day, I read a new article or study that discusses the benefits of mindfulness meditation and various Buddhist practices. Now, a new study from UC Santa Barbara suggests that mindfulness practice actually improves students' standardized test scores, especially the graduate school entrance test of the GREs.It is always hard to discuss the benefits of meditation, because many of them are subtle and profound and hard to actually quantify. I'm still waiting for studies which demonstrate not only the benefits of mindfulness meditation in brief  immersions, but that also  demonstrate the full benefits of taking on Buddhist practice of ethics, study and psychology for a given period of time, say a whole year. After all, mindfulness meditation is just the tip of the iceberg of what the dharma offers.
