WHAT IS KARMA?
WITH ETHAN NICHTERN AND SAH D’SIMONE

TUES, DECEMBER 11, 2024 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm ET

What is Karma? Is it your destiny? Is it your cosmic bank account of all your good deeds? Is it something you’re born with? Is it your stored trauma? Is it all in your head? Is it all your fault? Is it a Taylor Swift song?

Join authors and teachers Ethan Nichtern and Sah D’Simone for a free online talk exploring common cultural misconceptions about karma, how we experience it in meditation and daily life, and the tools Buddhism offers to work with it effectively.

WHAT IS ENGAGED BUDDHISM?
WITH ETHAN NICHTERN AND SHANNON WATTS

TUES, JANUARY 5, 2025 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm ET

Join Buddhist teacher and author Ethan Nichtern, along with special guest Shannon Watts, for a free online discussion about engaged Buddhism and Dharma Moon's upcoming Yearlong Buddhist Studies course beginning in January 2025.

They will discuss the importance of studying Buddhism in a way that pushes us deeper into engagement with this messy and chaotic world, instead of retreating from it.

The Yearlong Buddhist Studies course offers a deep training in meditation, Buddhist philosophy and psychology, spanning the entire 2025 year.

Designed to be highly practical (and occasionally geeky), it will be a comprehensive overview of the Buddhist path, with an emphasis on the psychological, metaphysical, and socially engaged elements, and will help you establish or reestablish a commitment to regular meditation practice through a variety of Buddhist techniques.

Virtual Retreat: Finding True Refuge with Sharon Salzberg

This retreat will explore different dimensions of refuge: learning not to be swayed by the incomplete or false refuges of endless accumulation, or determined isolation, or relentless competitiveness we may have been conditioned to; finding a supportive and sustainable sense of true refuge within ourselves, with one another, and with a bigger picture of life. Suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators.
