Online Courses and NYC Classes with Ethan (Starts Monday!)

Accelerating the Hero’s Journey: The Art and Science of Visualization

Join Dr. Miles Neale and Shastri Ethan Nichtern for this  great new course: After nearly three decades of interest, mindfulness is now a common household term and its widespread practice evident from Dharma centers to therapy offices, from public schools and corporations and even to the US military. A second wave of interest in meditation has currently shifted towards compassion-based practices and we have seen an associated increase of interdisciplinary dialog, clinical application and health research on positive social emotions. On the horizon will be a third wave of interest in the little known and often misunderstood practices of visualization common to the esoteric traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and Indian Yoga.  Anticipating future trends, this series takes a multi-perspectival look at the various dimensions of Tibetan Buddhist visualization practice, including its philosophical underpinnings, psychological mechanisms, and neurological correlates. In addition to diverse lecture topics, each class will focus on building a vibrant visualization practice that exercise the mental muscles of mindfulness, compassion, wisdom and inspiration simultaneously. In Person Course Monday nights 7-9pm, October 28-December 2Online Course Download begins Oct 29
