Elizabeth Warren, Drug Dealers, Bankers, and the Karmic Problem of Greed

The other night while teaching, during a conversation about the Buddhist view on capitalism, I mention the fact that from a Buddhist standpoint, universally speaking,  greed is not good. There is no way to construct a universe from a karmic standpoint of cause and effect where greed leads to positive outcomes. In that ligh,t this quote below from Senator Elizabeth Warren rings both very sad and very true about how our system punishes certain problematic actions, yet allows greater "kleshas" or afflictions to get off off scott free. I do respect Sen. Warren's voice and ability to tell the truth in a firm but well-reasoned way.
