Bill Murray Gives Amazing Meditation Instruction!

Bill Murray Meditation Dharma Talk

Bill Murray Meditation Dharma Talk

In my new book, The Road Home: A Contemporary Exploration of the Buddhist Path, I use examples from not one, but two, Bill Murray movies: The often Buddhist-quoted Groundhog Day and the timeless Ghostbusters. What I didn't know, however, was that Bill Murray gives amazing meditation instruction! Via my friend Tarikh and the On Being blog, check out this answer to the question "What's it like to be you?" that Bill was asked at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The On Being blog calls it a "dharma talk," which is cool enough, but more accurately, it's really a guided meditation instruction, and not just any meditation instruction, but an instruction on feeling that is uber-sympatico with a Shambhala, basic-goodness approach to meditation. The answer ends with the following, which made me think my book has the right title: "You know, the only way we’ll ever know what it’s like to be you is if you work your best at being you as often as you can, and keep reminding yourself: That’s where home is."Check it out.https://soundcloud.com/vulturedotcom/bill-murray-on-what-its-like-to-be-bill-murray
