10 Years Ago. 10 Years From Now.

I'll keep this short, because fewer words seem better today.I practiced metta meditation with friends. It didn't seem like a day to try to be funny. It didn't seem like a day to be too serious, either.Unknown ObjectIt didn't seem like a day to philosophize too much about, definitely not a day for political statements, all of which have already been made.It seemed like a day to reflect, without dwelling on the past.It seems like a good day to ask what I'm willing to practice, what I'm willing to face about myself here in the present, so that 10 years from now looks different from 10 years ago.It seems like a good day for these two quotes. Peace on Earth."Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."-- Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."Hate is never solved by hate, but by love alone. This is an eternal law."--Shakyamuni Buddha(follow Ethan on facebook and twitter)
